Abstract   The paper deals with the modeling and analysis of low voltage (LV) power distribution networks feeding residential, commercial and small industrial consumers including distributed generation units and storage systems. It focuses on an optimization model for the energy management system of the experimental microgrid built at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Western Switzerland, HES-SO Valais-Wallis, Sion. For this purpose, a mixed integer linear programming (MILP) model is presented, which takes into account the unbalanced operation of the LV network and the presence of the neutral wire. The validation of the accuracy of the model through the mentioned experimental microgrid and an analysis of some simulation results for a 24 hours horizon are presented too.
